From May 7 to 13, 2026, interpack 2026—the global flagship trade fair for the processing and packaging industry—was successfully held at the Düsseldorf Exhibition Centre in Germany. With high visitor traffic, intensive business networking, and extensive international participation, the event once again solidified its position as a premier global platform for the packaging and processing sector.

Over the seven-day event, 2,804 exhibitors from 65 countries and trade visitors from 161 nations gathered in Düsseldorf on the fully booked exhibition grounds. Notably, 75% of the visitors came from outside Germany, including 28% from non-European regions. Meanwhile, the concurrent supplier trade fair, components, featured approximately 100 exhibiting companies. Setting a new record for exhibitor numbers, interpack 2026 echoed the shared sentiment on-site: this was an event with exceptional impact.

Furthermore, interpack 2026 sent a clear signal: the packaging industry is more connected, innovative, and dialogue-oriented than ever before. Focusing on key transformation topics such as automation, data-based applications, flexible plant concepts, sustainable packaging materials, and compliance with the European PPWR, exhibitors presented end-to-end innovative solutions. This facilitated efficient technological matchmaking, project execution, and investment decisions, signaling a strong shift toward collaborative innovation and injecting fresh momentum into the high-quality growth of the global packaging industry.

interpack China 2026 Press Conference: Ushering in a New Era for the Asia-Pacific Market

Building on the global success of interpack 2026, the interpack China 2026 press conference was held alongside the main event on May 8 at the Düsseldorf Exhibition Centre. The event attracted media representatives and delegates from Singapore, India, Japan, Italy, Turkey, Brazil, Austria, and beyond, all gathering to witness the official launch of the premier packaging exhibition for the Asia-Pacific region.

During the conference, key executives—including Celine To, General Manager of Adsale Exhibition Services Ltd.; Evian Gu, General Manager of Messe Düsseldorf (Shanghai) Co., Ltd.; Senior Project Director Larry Chen; and Deputy Director Allan Wang—delivered remarks outlining the preparatory progress and strategic roadmap for interpack China 2026. As a major regional exhibition under the interpack Global Alliance, the Shanghai edition is scheduled for November 16–18, 2026, at the Shanghai New International Expo Centre (SNIEC). Spanning 70,000 square meters across five halls, the event is set to host over 970 leading domestic and international enterprises and attract approximately 47,000 trade visitors, with international attendees expected to account for 20%.

The upcoming exhibition will feature highly specialized segments, including the Paper-Based Sustainable Packaging Zone, the Scenario-based Smart Connectivity Zone, the Packaging Products & Material Pavilion, and International Pavilions. The show will highlight industry trends such as smart interactive packaging, paper-based high barrier, net-zero/low-carbon packaging, compliance with PPWR and EPR, and AI packaging design, showcasing end-to-end intelligent solutions and cutting-edge innovations. Additionally, the organizers will upgrade the Hosted Buyer Program to attract more international buyers, helping enterprises tap into the expanding Chinese and Asian markets.

Dual-Show Synergy and Expanding Global Reach: Shanghai Edition Set to Open this November with an Upgraded Lineup

Leveraging the resources of the interpack Global Alliance, interpack and interpack China have established highly effective synergies. This collaboration has attracted a strong contingent of technologically competitive and globally minded Chinese enterprises to exhibit at both events. By participating in both Germany and China, these companies are presenting advanced equipment, innovative materials, and integrated solutions to global packaging professionals, driving technical exchange and industry cooperation.

BHI showcased its next-generation AI-powered X-ray inspection equipment. Powered by a nationally patented general AI inspection algorithm, the system accurately identifies micro-contaminants such as 0.05 mm metal wires and 0.1 mm stainless-steel spheres. Built on four core advantages—sensitivity, stability, flexibility, and simplicity —it significantly improves defect detection accuracy and operational stability across multiple applications, including X-ray foreign object detection, dual-energy bone fragment scanning, seal leakage inspection, fishbone detection, bulk material screening, side-view bottle inspection, cosmetic defect inspection, ultra-wide scanning, and multispectral analysis.

Acepack marked its fifth appearance at the exhibition, presenting its full-servo horizontal form-fill-seal (HFFS) machine, full-servo pre-made pouch machine, and full-servo multi-lane packaging machine. Utilizing a full-servo mechanical design, these machines offer easy maintenance, high-precision operation, excellent overall equipment effectiveness (OEE), and a high return on investment. They flexibly meet the diverse packaging needs of the food, personal care, home care, and pharmaceutical sectors, enabling efficient production, rapid changeovers, and streamlined operation and maintenance.

ELE MOTION made the global debut of its HVC520 high-speed vertical packaging machine. Designed around a sanitary, easy-to-clean, and easy-to-maintain universal modular platform, the compact machine achieves stable operating speeds of up to 180 bags per minute. It effectively resolves common industry pain points in high-speed production, such as product damage and dust leakage. It is highly suitable for snacks, agricultural products, pet food, sauces, and powders, and is particularly ideal for manufacturing environments with strict standards for product integrity and cleanliness. Combined with its strong cost-effectiveness and rapid delivery times, the system successfully brings advanced technology closer to real market needs.

Weide Packaging introduced the world’s first MVS Series cushioned flexible strapping band. The core highlight of the MVS series lies in its ultra-thin and flexible profile, measuring just 0.15 mm in thickness. Compared to traditional PP strapping, this flexible alternative fits more snugly, prevents both scuffing and structural damage to cartons, and greatly improves the overall aesthetic appeal of the packaging. At the same time, it effectively reduces plastic consumption; manufactured from 100% recyclable pure PP material, it fully complies with the European Union’s circular economy requirements.

Cangzhou Eiahe Machinery highlighted its new generation of integrated packaging solutions, including capping and packaging machines for the food, condiment, and daily chemical industries, as well as high-speed sachet production equipment and large-format pre-made pouch packaging machines. This new generation of equipment improves operational efficiency by 20–30% compared to previous models. Utilizing core components from top-tier international brands ensures long-term stable operation, while support for rapid multi-specification changeovers delivers outstanding flexible production capabilities, making it perfectly suited to the market trend toward High-Mix, Low-Volume (HMLV) manufacturing.

In 2026, interpack China 2026 will bring together an even broader array of premium domestic and international exhibitors, uniting top-tier enterprises and innovative brands from across the entire industry chain. With comprehensive upgrades to the exhibitor lineup, event scale, and exhibition highlights, the show will deliver a richer, more cutting-edge spectrum of achievements to the packaging industry.
